Artist Statement: With one raised paw, this little cat beckons good fortune and prosperity to you. The Maneki Neko (literally "beckoning cat") is one of the most common lucky charms in Japan. Found frequently in shop windows, the Maneki Neko sits with its paw raised and bent, as if beckoning customers to enter. This good luck kitty wears the Japanese kanji for fortune on his belly. A great gift for anyone who needs a little extra luck in business - don't we all;)
