Richard Saja; New Yorker, designer and artist specialising in "Embroidered, Decorative, Graphic and Fine Art work".
He subverts the traditionally bucolic and romantic imagery of toile fabrics by embroidering more-or-less subtle weirdness over the top. There is nothing I don't love about that idea! Particular favourites include a toile sofa complete with burning cottage, anti-capitalist braille cushions, and an Arthurian toile panel complete with glow-in-the-dark superhero costumes.
